Welcome to Passmore Class.Â
We are Year 5 and Mrs Wood teaches us every day except for Tuesday afternoon when we are taught by Mr Strick.Â
In our class we work hard to follow our class agreement and our School Christian values of compassion, community, perseverance, respect, trust and love. As year 5s we are developing our independence as learners and try to look for opportunities to support our own learning. This includes making sure that we have everything we need for our learning and using the resources in the classroom when we need them. Becoming independent learners is really important for us and will help us when we transition into year 6 and beyond.Â
In Passmore, we have a wide and interesting curriculum that helps foster our love of learning. We really enjoy being hands-on scientists and are encouraged to ask lots of questions. We can then discover the answers to these questions by planning, setting up and carrying out investigations. In other areas of the curriculum, we enjoy the practical side of learning and having lots of opportunities to discuss our ideas with our classmates. We know that when learning new things, two brains working together is better than one!Â
In Passmore, we love reading and regularly have time to enjoy reading books. We have lots of opportunities to choose different books from different places, such as the school library, the class book corner, the town library and our special ‘Buzz Books’ that link to our class book. The class book is a story that Mrs Wood reads to us every day. We really enjoy this time together as a class and come up with lots of different theories and predictions for what is happening and what might happen next. We love to explore new authors and books together and always break out into applause when we finish the book!
Passmore is a happy place to be, and we are always working to be the best we can be.Â
We thought that it would be helpful to let you know the Passmore class expectations.
